In the Crohn disease, the inflammatory processes appear mainly at the intestinal level but also at the colon, most frequently affected are terminal segments of the small intestine.

If the colon is affected also fistulas and abscesses may occur in the anal area. 

Which are the characteristic symptoms?

Most of the cases – diarrhea 10-20 stools per day, asthenia, weight loss, physical development delayed at teenagers.

What is the treatment? 

Mainly by medicaments (cortisone) 

Sometimes the symptoms disappear suddenly without any other treatment, but the recurrences may appear anytime.
